On 19th October the University of Warsaw opens the European Centre for Geological Education (ECEG) in Chęciny in the Holy Cross Mountains.

The centre is located in the area of the oldest rocks, counting over 500 milion years. Chęciny lies on the border between two very important geological units of the Holy Cross Mountains: the Palaeozoic Core and the Permian-Mezozoic Margin.

The Canadians have dominated the podium in the second edition of the international Mars Rovers competition called the European Rover Challenge. The first place went to the University of Saskatchewan Space Design Team from Canada, followed by the Polish team from the Białystok University of Technology (#next team) and the Mc Gill University Team from Montreal.

Established seven decades ago, the Poznan Institute for Western Affairs is among Poland’s most prominent research and scholarly institutions, widely recognized and highly esteemed in the international scholarly community. The Institute’s research interests center on the history of Polish-German relations, the Western and Northern Territories, European and trans-Atlantic affairs and Poland’s policies and security.

On 24th and 25th October, the third edition of the “Science. Polish Perspectives” conference will be held in Oxford. It is a popular science conference directed at young researchers, PhD students and undergraduates of Polish origin, conducting their research at universities and institutes outside of Poland.
