Flights from Madrid-Kraków-Madrid have been scheduled for the period from 20 June to 17 September 2016, twice a week, on Mondays and Saturdays. Iberia Express aircraft type A318, A319, A320, A321 will operate on the route.

Iberia previously flew the Kraków route from 2008 to 2009 (Iberia Air Nostrum).

Jan Pamuła, chief executive of Kraków Airport, said: “This is a strengthening of the offer by carriers of IAG [the International Airlines Group], a group IAG, of which British Airways and Vueling are also with us, and another opportunity to use this large European hub. It also confirms the attractiveness of Kraków and Małopolska, and the position of our airport.”

Another big carrier has also announced that it will launch a connection with Kraków next year. From March, SAS will fly to Copenhagen, and Aegean Airlines will operate a route to Athens at the peak of the summer season.
