The evening starts at 6 PM with a welcome drink and will be followed by great food from our Indonesian heritage (buffet), entertainment and of course opportunities to meet with business partners from Poland and the Netherlands. The evening will be anchored by Ewa Wachowicz.

“We have been supporting the Charity Balls Rijsttafel already for a couple of years and this year is very special for us too. In May KLM officially inaugurated a direct route between Amsterdam and Krakow, which further strengthens the relationship between Poland and the Netherlands. Thanks to the new flight the traffic of tourists to and from Poland has increased, but not only. Business travels became more convenient now for companies, whose employees travel between Amsterdam and Krakow” – says Chloe Marchand Country Manager in Poland.

This year the charity cause is again the foundation “Akogo?”, an organization professionally led by Ewa Błaszczyk. The purpose of “Akogo?” is to help children after severe traumatic brain injury. If you want to read some more information please visit the website AKogo? Foundation. During the evening the guests will have several opportunities to support the foundation:

  • Raffle tickets with wonderful prizes offered by our generous sponsors, including a flight ticket for two, to a far-away destination sponsored by KLM
  • Hotel room: For each guest who stays in the Intercontinental, a contribution will be made to the foundation
  • Photo’s: During the evening a photographer will make pictures and guests can voluntarily donate when they pick up their photos at the end of the evening
  • Contribution: Companies can also make a contribution without participating in the raffle.

Richard Matulesse is the chef at the Rijsttafel 2015. Matulesse ran one of the culinary hotspots in Amsterdam, skybar floor 17, in the Ramada Apollo Amsterdam. Matulesse is also a former executive chef of the well-known Amstel hotel in Amsterdam.
