There were more than 1200 participants registered but we know that many more people took part in the run. The participants completed the laps in cheerful and friendly atmosphere in order to get the biggest number of hearts and support the treatment of 6.5-year-old Blanka Bieniek from Szczyrk, who was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in June this year. They also ran for the funds to build a heart rotodynamic pump prototype, the initiative of Zbigniew Religa Foundation of Cardiac Surgery Development in Zabrze.

We will find out how many laps were completed and how many hearts were won when all the stamps from the participants’ cards are counted. We can already say that the amount collected from the starting packages, special cake, gadgets and the auction is 16,032.50 PLN. Additionally, there was 6,050 PLN donated in cheques.

The public collection will last until 31 August 2014. The full calculation of costs and incomes from the run will be published when the collection is completed and the final report is prepared. Those who would like to support this year’s action can donate the money to the Szczyrk The Brigand Association’s account.

We would like to thank all the participants, sponsors and partners for their contribution, help, huge hearts, great atmosphere and good fun!
