How to prepare traditional Polish bigos (or hunter’s stew), what are the tastes of Christmas in Ireland and Poland, and what is the difference between seasonal celebrations in the two countries – these are some of the topics that have been discussed in the first episode of Cook with the Polish Embassy in Dublin!, a series of short films made by the Polish diplomatic mission in the Irish capital city.

The Christmas instalment brings together Michał Sikorski of Poland and Aidan Timmons of Ireland, who talk about cooking traditional Christmas bigos. Viewers will learn what kind of meat they are going to need, why juniper is so important, and how much stewing it takes to make sure all ingredients blend as they should.

The upcoming episodes will be streamed through the Embassy’s YouTube channel. They will feature new hosts who will demonstrate how to prepare other traditional Polish dishes using products available in Irish shops.
