Held in Kyiv, Odessa, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv and Lutsk between 15 and 26 April, the festival will feature some of the most interesting Polish productions of recent years, such as the Citizen directed by Jerzy Stuhr. Also screened will be Life Feels Good by Maciej Pieprzyca, the Warsaw Uprising by Jan Komasa, the Oscar-winning Ida by Paweł Pawlikowski, the Gods by Łukasz Palkowski and Lasting by Jacek Borcuch.

Apart from the latest Polish productions shown during the festival, the audience will have a chance to attend a special screening of Andrzej Munk’s Passenger, a story of female prisoners in the Nazi extermination camp Auschwitz.

According to the latest edition of the magazine Kyiv: Theatre and Concerts, Polish cinema has always been highly appreciated in Ukraine, but its popularity peaked in the second half of the 1980s. It is hoped that the 10th days of Polish cinema in Ukraine will help Polish films win back this recognition.

The festival catalogue and poster were designed by Svetlana Koshkina. The event is held in cooperation with the Polish Film Institute and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
