The Olympics of Polish Communities have been organised since 1934 in different cities around Poland. The Games are attended by Polish people living abroad, who represent countries they live in. The main objective of the event is to integrate Polish communities as well as strengthen and animate their contacts with the motherland. So far the biggest number of participants has been attracted by the World Summer Olympics of Polish Communities in Lower Silesia in 2011 – more than 1,600 people from almost 30 country competed in 27 disciplines.

On behalf of the organisers we would like to invite all Polish communities to take part in this year’s Olympics. Let’s meet on 2-9 August 2015 in Katowice on order to compete in sporting spirit, win, meet one another and integrate. Immense possibilities of the Silesian Voivodeship and its residents’ competence will make the 17th World Summer Olympics of Polish Communities a fantastic sporting experience and will give everyone the opportunity to know the beauty and hospitality of this part of Poland.

As the tradition goes, before the Olympics, on 24-31 July 2015, the Polish Olympic Committee is organising the 23rd World Olympic Council of Polish Communities and the Sailing World Championships in Arłamów. This regular 6-day event usually attracts dozens of activists and representatives of Polish communities from around the world. It also adds splendour and announces the upcoming Olympics.
