The 12th “Report on Entrepreneurship in Poland,” prepared by the Ministry of Economy has just been published. In 2013, macroeconomic conditions shaped the development of companies in Poland, and 1.6% economic growth is one of the highest results in Europe – this is the conclusion of the report.

“We believe the EU founds will help to shape Polish economy”, said president Sławomir Majman during the conference entitled “EU Founds 2014-2020 – a new perspective – new opportunities for entrepreneurs” which took place on 15 September in Polish Infomation and Foreign Investment Agency.

29% of surveyed companies admitted that in the next six months they plan to increase the employment. This is 3 percentage points’ growth compared to the previous quarter and the best result in nearly five-year history of the survey.

The 24th Economic Forum started yesterday, 2nd of September, in Krynica-Zdroj. It’s the biggest meeting of political and business elites from Central Europe.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development would like to increase the presence of Polish agri-food products in Vietnam and South Korea to avoid the results of Russian embargo on Polish exporters. The government has also established special interdepartmental group of experts in order to stabilize the situation on Polish fruits’ and vegetables’ market.

The British Economist weekly has published Special Report on Poland. As the author, Vandeline von Bredow says, “Poland is thriving. Not since the days of the Jagiellonian kings in the 16th century, when Poland stretched from the Baltic almost to Black Sea, has it been so prosperous, peaceful, united and influential”.

This is the next quarter of a clear recovery of the Polish labour marker – the situation is slowly stabilising. However, employers are cautiously optimistic in terms of increasing employment. Moreover, companies are more interested in flexible forms of employment and outsourcing. Those are the results of the recent “Barometr ManpowerGroup” survey.
