Poznań – the fifth most populous city in Poland attracts foreign investors due to high quality of workforce and big number of office and warehouse space. Location of Poznań close to the main land and air routes is an additional asset of the city, argue authors of the “Focus on Poznan” report, prepared by the Pro Progressio Foundation in cooperation with Polish Infomation and Foreign Investment Agency.

KGHM – the world’s leading copper and silver producer – started feeding ore into the process plant in its Sierra Gorda mine in Chile. It is one of the largest and fastest-developed mining projects in the world. The mine’s opening ceremony is planned this autumn, in the presence of Polish, Chilean and Japanese authorities.

Over 60% of French companies operating in Poland surveyed by CCIFP and KPMG declare the will to open a new office or branch in Poland soon. The “20 years of French investments in Poland” report clearly shows that French companies are glad to be here.

Rebuilding the Silk Road as well as trends in solar and wind energy policy were discussed on 4 July during a meeting between Polish Infomation and Foreign Investment Agency president Sławomir Majman and president of the Development Research Center (DRC), minister Li Wei, who led the Chinese delegation visiting Poland.

Poland maintained the leading position among the most perspectives FDI destinations in the world. Moreover, according to the World Investment Report 2014 prepared by UNCTAD, the country has improved its position reaching the 13th place. The global premiere of UNCTAD report has been held in Polish Infomation and Foreign Investment Agency on 24 June.

Google will open a centre for tech start-ups in Warsaw, announced its executive chairman, Eric Schmidt. It will be the company’s third such facility in the world.

Next foreign company has chosen Poland. Korean automotive company Mando located its plant in Wałbrzych. The factory’s opening ceremony was attended by undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Economy Ilona Antoniszyn – Klik and Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency president Sławomir Majman.

On 20 May, Council of Ministers extended the five special economic zones – Legnica SEZ, Kostrzyn – Slubice SEZ, Pomeranian SEZ, Katowice SEZ and Słupsk SEZ. According to zones’ estimations, due to that decision PLN 1.8 billion will be invested and 950 new jobs can be created there.
