This year is the 95th anniversary of Poland reclamation of independence. On 11th November 1918, the Regency Council handed over authority over the military, and command of a Polish Army that had been dependent on that council. The same day, Germany signed the armistice which ended World War I. After over 120 years Poland was reclaiming independence.

EMiGRA Festival is an innovative project encompassing two kinds of art: poetry and film, words and images. The 20th edition of the International Festival of Poetry “May at the Wilia and Vistula Rivers”at Vilnius in May 2013 has been integrated with the emigration film festival EMiGRA.

Unstable weather did not discourage fans of music and Polish food to enthusiastically participate in the Taste of Polonia Festival, which took place during the weekend of August 30th to September 2nd, in the Copernicus Center.

July 13, 2013 marked the second annual Polish Festival in Seattle Center. Together with audiences of Seattle and surrounding areas, the local Polish-American community, celebrated Polish culture and traditions. The Festival featured classical, folk, jazz and contemporary music and dance performances on two stages.

Last weekend (May 4-5), after the pompous parade on May 3, the celebrations of May 3rd Constitution Day were continued at two-day 3-May Day festival held in Copernicus Center.

As part of the ‘Polish makes chic!’ exhibition, the Emigration Museum in Gdynia is proud to present the profiles of Polish immigrants who in the 20’s and 30’s earned approval and recognition in an unconventional way within film, visual arts, design, fashion and music.
