Okno na Wschód Foundation (Window to the East) is pleased to invite students of Polish origin aged 18-25 from Belarus, Lithuania, Russia (Kaliningrad) and Ukraine to participate in the project “The Academy of Creative Leadership – education stays for youth student of Polish descent from Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine and Russia (Kaliningrad).” The first edition of the project is scheduled for 13 – 22 May 2013, in Białystok.
“The Academy of Creative Leadership” is a project developed to respond to the problem of the minimal participation of young university students of Polish origin in the generation and implementation of actions that would serve to Polish environments as well as Poles in the country. The aim of the project is to activate students of Polish origin from Belarus, Lithuania, Russia (Kaliningrad), Ukraine and make them active, informed members of the Polish diaspora, who will support the Polish environments, Poland and Poles in the country with their attitude and action.
This will be achieved through the implementation of educational stay in the form of study visits in Bialystok. The visit will allow participants to familiarize themselves with contemporary Poland and local leaders working in the following areas: the media, the academic community, local government and administration, the contemporary Polish culture. Participants will meet, among others, with representatives of local and academic government, politicians, members of student organizations and student government. Host in Białystok youth will also participate in cultural events, including a festival of students – Białystok ‘student holidays’.
Meetings will be complemented by workshops and practical classes, which aims to: expand the knowledge, analyze the information, and discussion on the methods and the capability to build a platform for the development of collaborations between the participants and their environments and companies from Polish.
