European Robotics Congress and European Rover Challenge 

The Exhibition and Congress of the Podkarpackie Region will host the first European Robotics Congress and the third edition of the European Mars rovers competition European Rover Challenge (ERC).  Importance of the event further confirms the fact that during the event the assumptions of the Polish Space Strategy will be presented, and the competition itself this year a part of the global robots league The popularity of the event also underlines a number of 50,000 visitors from the two previous European Rover Challenge editions.

We are glad that we can be hosts to ERC 2016 which fits perfectly into the strategy to promote the region as a place of innovation and encouraging the development of new technologies and the aviation and aerospace industry– says Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie – The event will be a platform for exchange of experiences between business and science, will create a community of people, open to the challenges of unconventional thinking.

Take a flight to Mars!

The event is accompanied by an incredible exhibition zone where the general public will be able to, among other things, attend presentations and workshops, take the flight to Mars, will also learn the basics of robotics, or use a flight simulator. As a part of the event a debate of the European Space Agency will take place, organised simultaneously in 22 member states, during which the participants will connect directly with the General Director of ESA, Jan Woerner.

With Saturday’s debate, we will be informed if the universe is accessible to an ordinary citizen. In turn, participating in Monday’s conference we will learn also how the Polish space sector will be developed– explains Łukasz Wilczyński, President of the European Space Foundation, organiser and originator of the ERC. – Participation in the event is also the opportunity to learn about career opportunities or to develop their own company in the space sector – he added.

All attractions available between September 10-13 are free of charge.
