The winners in five categories: Culture, Business, Science, Personality and Young Pole were selected by our special committee. The committee’s task was not easy, since all the candidates submitted impressive applications. Factors considered by the board included the candidate’s involvement in the work for the Polish diaspora in Scotland, their community work and charity work.

The Internet users’ voting on Pangea website stirred up a lot of emotion. Until the very last day, four potential winners were neck in neck, each of them having gathered over four thousand votes. However, to find out who won the “Internet Users’ Award,” you need to wait for the gala itself.

This year, for the first time we granted an award for non-Polish people who actively support Polish community in Scotland, and selflessly promote Poland, Poles, and their culture, tradition and history among local communities.

The star of the evening shall be Aleksander Doba – the winner of the Adventurer of the Year 2015 title, granted by National Geographic. Aleksander is a Polish Kayaker – the first man who crossed the Atlantic alone in a kayak, under his own steam.
