Hospitality

Poland is not only about cities, regions and sights, most of all it is about its people. Without them it is difficult to talk about culture, since they are the creators. Although Poland struggles with some problems, it is developing and beautiful. It becomes an increasingly interesting country, it attracts attention. Poles are friendly and kind. Despite all their national faults, they are very hospitable. This is especially evident in those regions and areas which have not yet been commercialised.  A famous Polish proverb  “My home is your home” perfectly reflects Polish hospitality – our national trait.

Folk Art

In many places around Poland, life as it used to be in the past can be observed.  Open-air museums, fairs and folk festivals create excellent opportunities to become familiar with Polish culture. They provide us with  lessons about culture, traditions and customs, which we know only from books and stories from our grandparents. Music, dance, legends, folk tales and rituals are rich traditions. They attract attention, as well as stimulate imagination. Places where there are examples of handicrafts (textiles, embroidery, lace, folk costumes, articles of straw, wicker, spices, pottery, ceramics and handbags), are also noteworthy. Polish Folk Art is an inspiration for modern artists – either Poles or foreigners, and for many people,  a memory of the past.
