– We encourage entrepreneurs to try their luck abroad regardless of what they do. Export operations can be successful even in the smallest of niches – says Radosław Jarema, the head of Akcenta in Poland.

We get it!

To support their opinions experts from Akcenta quote an interesting case of buttons which we think about only when they become loose. According to the date of the Central Statistical Office of Poland, last year the value of export of this type of goods (buttons, press studs, button moulds and other elements of these articles or half-finished products) amounted to 43.4 million PLN. Our buttons are most often bought in Germany (nearly 50% of the whole export), Ukraine (3.2 million PLN) and Moldavia (1.6 million PLN).

Let’s roll!

Polish companies are also achieving a growing success in exporting sheet music. Those printed, in a manuscript form, illustrated and framed ones make a sensation in the world more and more often. In 2015 the demand for music sheets from Poland increased three times compared to the previous year. They are hugely popular among the Germans who paid for them more than 4.7 million PLN last year. Apart from our western neighbours also Japanese, Austrians and Americans bought our music sheets although they spent much less money on them.

Juicy export of dried apples

After the Russian embargo on apples had been introduced, there was a lot said about Polish export of apples. Before their road to the East was closed, we had been a leader in their global export. Last year we came third [1]. Polish producers, supported by a promotional campaign in Poland, have found their way in the new conditions relying on cider and… exporting dried apples. In the last five years the export of the latter almost doubled. Dried apples are bought by clients in many countries, including those more distant ones, such as Malta, South Africa or Hong Kong. Last year almost one-third of dried apples from Poland were bought by contracting parties in Great Britain (for almost 6.3 million PLN). It’s evident that they prefer this type of apples because they bought only 50% fresh apples more than before.

Snails show their tentacles abroad

According to experts from Akcenta, a great example of not so obvious export hit is snails. In 2015 their export (in every possible form) was worth nearly 7.2 million PLN (7% growth YoY). Our main recipient is the nation that loves this creatures the most – the French. They buy almost 70% of the whole export. Who else likes Polish snails? Surprisingly enough, the Czechs. Last year we sent them snails worth nearly 2 million PLN.

Export from Poland is dazzling

Boom, flash and awe – this is something else that Polish companies export by sending fireworks abroad. In 2015 these dazzling goods sent to foreign markets were worth as much as 27.3 million PLN. Fireworks from Poland brighten the sky and add splendour to various events in almost every country in Europe. The biggest recipients include Germany, France and Romania. – I hope that this year will be a real “boom” for the whole Polish export. Looking at the results for the first four months of this year, which indicate a 6.7% growth YoY, we can hope that Polish exporters will have a reason to celebrate – says Radosław Jarema from Akcenta.
