Polish pilots, among others Plt Off Urszula Brzezińska – one of two female fighter pilots in the Polish Air Force, presented several different types of modern aircraft including MiG-29 with special Battle of Britain tail art.

The event was attended by Deputy Ambassador Dariusz Łaska.

Historic Aircraft Collection’s Hurricane RF-E P3700 in No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron markings and Spitfire JH-C BM597, originally flown by Poles in Nos. 315 and 317 Squadrons, were also on display. Their presence at RIAT was part of the #BoBPoles project developed by the Polish Embassy to promote knowledge of the Polish contribution to the Battle of Britain on its 75th anniversary.

More information about the #BoBPoles project is available on the Facebook, Twitter and YouTube profiles of the Polish Embassy in London until the end of October.

Information about the Polish contribution to the Battle of Britain is available also on the Poland and Poles in WWII website.
