Phileas Fogg eccentric record and his frantic journey around the world seemed to fade in comparison to what could be experienced during the meeting. In just a few hours you could travel to almost all corners of Poland and get to know the success stories of women, who found a second home in the Netherlands.

The cocktail was a gathering of women representing various industries and specialties, as well as lady entrepreneurs running their own business. The dominant theme of discussions was the experience of working in an international environment, but also many amusing anecdotes and stories about life and work in the Netherlands were shared. It was certainly an experience for every woman, regardless of whether the country of tulips was their new home or they have lived here for a dozen years.

Friday’s meeting was the launch of a brand new initiative. The person behind the idea of creating a group of professionally active women, living and working in the Netherlands, is Monika Boomgaard.

“While browsing LinkedIN, my attention was drawn to a huge amount of Polish women, who achieved success in the Netherlands, either working in various positions in the companies or running their own business. Each of us left Poland, leaving behind friends and family. I envisioned a group that would build connections between those women, to support each other and help them in further professional development.”

Monika was soon joined and supported by Julita Davies, who is an author of the group’s website at Polish Professional Women and takes care of the online exposure and was a co-organizer of Friday’s meeting.
Polish Professional Women in the Netherlands is an informal group, but plans to become an association, with the mission to gather and support its members, to help them develop their potential, and most importantly to be a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and personal development.

The next meeting of the Polish Professional Women in the Netherlands will take place in May in Amsterdam.
