One of the main aims of the association is to promote and spread Polish culture, tradition and language, reinforcing roots and Polish identity. The Association wishes to be an ambassador and promoter of Polish culture in the Friuli-Venice Region. Polonik integrates Poles and provides help to Polish families in Italy as well.
A very important action carried out by the Association is intercultural integration. Polonik originally was considered to be a bridge connecting different cultures, especially Polish and Italian, leading to integration of families and improvement of cooperation between various ethnic groups.
Special attention of Association is directed towards children and teenagers (especially Polish), their integration, development of activity, broadening of horizons etc. The actions of the Association are directed not only to adolescence, but also to people working with them. Polonik also educates adults: we conduct courses of Italian, English & Polish languages and Film Debating Society which is realized within the framework of the Polish Club’s program operated by The “Polonik” Association.
The Association operates also in the field of social support. It helps and gives advice to people in hard situations. According to our charter we offer any forms of social help. In the future the Association also wishes to develop mutual help via organizing and promoting Time Banks, as well as carrying out concrete actions in order to reinforce intergenerational solidarity.
Polonik does not run a business and is based on volunteer work. The Association supports initiatives and pro-social actions which shapes the feeling of solidarity, tolerance and respect for cultural difference.
