Americans of Polish descent, Polish immigrants as well as a couple of “Poles by choice” – 30 people have told the story of their life in a unique project run by the Emigration Museum in Gdynia. Tomek Zerek, an artist and a photographer, together with a researcher, Doctor Anna Muller, spent a few months in a place that really fascinated them. Hamtramck, a small town in Michigan and a unique Polish community, has also become the pretext for our meeting with Doctor Anna Muller.

We are talking with Karolina Bielawska, the director of a documentary entitled Mów mi Marianna (Call me Marianna) – the film about a woman who made a dramatic choice between living in harmony with her sexual identity and being with her family. It has been widely recognised and received numerous awards at international festivals. This week the audience at the 5th Play Poland Film Festival will have a chance to see it.

Ms. Barbara Borys-Damięcka is a theatre and television director, president of the Association of Theatre Directors of Theatre in Poland, President of the Pole of the Year in the Netherlands jury, Chair of the Council of Television Polonia, Senator (VII and VIII terms), working on the Committee for Culture and Media and the Committee for Emigrant Affairs and Liaisons with Poles Abroad. In an interview with Link to Poland, she talks about her everyday work, the emergence of TV Polonia, and the basis of success of Television Theatre.

The seventh edition of Bella Skyway Festival was all about celebrating the incredible human capacity of perceiving life in all its dimensions. Once again, its public had an opportunity to observe new trends in contemporary art, and to search for links between science and art based on high technology, which lifts audio-visual art to another level.
