On 19th October the University of Warsaw opens the European Centre for Geological Education (ECEG) in Chęciny in the Holy Cross Mountains.
The centre is located in the area of the oldest rocks, counting over 500 milion years. Chęciny lies on the border between two very important geological units of the Holy Cross Mountains: the Palaeozoic Core and the Permian-Mezozoic Margin.
– Besides knowledge, you will also gain friends, who will hold the highest offices in Polandin 15 to 20 years from now, – said Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary of State Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz at the inauguration of a new Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme at the University of Warsaw on 13 December, 2013.
