Gdańsk is the only city in Poland that has been nominated in the competition for the title of “European Best Destination 2017”. Participating in the competition are cities that tourists most willing visit and have a very good reputation on the Internet – Gdańsk’s competitors are cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Paris, Vienna, London, Madrid and Budapest.

“Gdańsk guarantees a unique atmosphere and a unique experience. The atmosphere comes from the old and beautiful historic monuments and the scent of the sea. Tempting shops and 20 kilometres of beaches. Cultural events and nature reserves that cannot be found anywhere else. Restaurants, cafes and clubs and the spirit of freedom and tolerance which has emerged many times over the thousand-year multi-national history of Gdańsk – this is how the editors of the tourist guide Lonely Planet described the attractiveness of Gdansk. This opinion is also shared by tourists. In the summer of last year nearly 770 thousand guests from all over the world visited Gdansk and the average score from their stay was 8.8/10 points.
