– In this year for the constructors, aside of having the chance of participating in the major Mars rover competition hosted in Europe a mentoring workshop will take place. Furthermore, the most prestigious robotics competitions league in the world – Rover Challenge Series, powered by the Mars Society – have launched recently – says Lukasz Wilczynski, ERC Director – and European Rover Challenge is one of its main cores. All the teams that will participate in the challenges including the league (ERC, URC and smaller national competitions) will collect points in general classification and in the end of the season the best team of robotic world will be announced.

Therefore a big task awaits for players who have signed up to the European Rover Challenge 2016. It involves the preparation of The Preliminary Report, that should contain detailed information of their rover project. Deadline for this document expires at 5th of May 2016. Based on the total score of this section and of the Proposals (submitted by the team, along with their application) that are being evaluated by judges now, the best teams will be selected and they will compete for the victory in European Rover Challenge 2016 in September, in Poland.

European Rover Challenge is not only the largest in Europe, prestigious Mars rovers competition. It is also a business zone for the space industry-related and scientific – technology shows dedicated to a wide audience, including families with children – ERC is very special, educational event. Previous editions of the ERC attracted a total of over 50 thousand spectators.
