The meetings take part every Saturday at 3. 00 pm and include trips, visits to museums, barbecues, workshops and informations sessions with representatives of local services, for instance, with a legal advisor.

Motivated by the Seniors, Merseyside Polonia launched a library, which consists of both Polish and foreign titles, the recent bestsellers included.

Seniors enjoy also weekly English classes, which are led by a Polish English teacher and give the participants an opportunity to start their learning from 0 level in a friendly environment. The course is free and the adjusted to the participants’ levels of language and needs.

Merseyside Polonia believes that meetings organised as a part of the project encourage older members of Polish community to go out, spend free time with friends and coexist with other members of multicultural community in Liverpool.

The success of the pilot project in the first quarter of 2014 and the needs of the group that was gathered inspired Merseyside Polonia to continue the project and make an attempt to find new participants ready to join the group.
