Poland’s finest ski centres

Zakopane is called Poland’s winter capital. This ski and spa resort in the Tatra Mountains, offers a big variety in winter activities, like skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, sleigh rides, dog sled rides, guided snow shoe walks or snowmobiles. There are also ski touring opportunities with mountain lodging offered by local tourist organisations.

Szklarska Poręba in the Sudety Mountains, is the biggest cross country skiing centre in Poland, it offers hundred kilometres of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing, in some areas even until late spring. Different routes are available for all levels of skiers from beginners to advanced. The ski centre also offers snowshoeing, downhill skiing, sleigh rides, snow tubes, snowmobiles and dog sled rides.

Discover the unknown

In the beautiful region of Masuria you will find less known ski centres, known as the land of a thousand lakes. Family friendly ski resorts are in Szelment, Mrągowo, Gołdap and Suwałki surrounded by a diverse landscape of lakes and gentle hills. The centres offer rental equipment, instructors, ski lifts, marked trails, accommodation, and other winter activities. Folwark Łękuk offers nice accommodation with a lot of interesting winter activities.

In the Masurian and Kashubian Lake Districts many tourist centres offer cross country skiing or ice boats and ice surfing on frozen lakes. And if you want to do something more relaxed you can rent fishing equipment for fishing on ice. For the brave ones diving under the ice is offered.
