Podlasie is a beautiful land full of magic, sacred groves, charming Orthodox churches and crosses along the road. The scenery contains fields of standing grain, picturesque villages and ancient forests. This is the most ethnically and culturally diverse region of Poland, where Poles, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Tatars and Russians have lived and are still living side-by-side, with followers of Catholicism, Orthodox, Protestantism and Islam.

Thanks to the great photographs of Adam Falkowski, you can admire the beauty of nature in Podlasie and enjoy views of restored mansions and palaces and the wealth of churches, mosques and synagogues. You can participate in many festivals, including Orthodox Feast of the Baptism of the Lord and the Catholic Corpus Christi. You can get to know many shrines, sacred springs and places of pilgrimage. You may also visit the “Orthodox Częstochowa” – so-called Grabarka.

Move into the world of magic in Podlasie and love it!

Adam Falkowski is a photographer of his small homeland – Podlasie. He focuses more on the province than on the city. He is looking for peace and balance in the small towns and villages and their eternal spiritual shrines. His photographs highlight the multicultural dimension which is characteristic for the region. Among the images of landscape and architecture, the author can also find a place for humans. He captures the inhabitants of this land both during daily activities and regular religious ceremonies and festivals.
