The Polonus Foundation organizes the election of the Pole of the year, which aims to increase the prestige of the Poles living in the Netherlands and to show the Polish activity in this country.
The registered candidates represent Poland in 5 categories and by their activity and achievements when influence the knowledge about Poland and Poles people among the Dutch people. They are also the inspiration for the Polish community and are the proof that we can achieve something also outside the Polish borders.
The award given to Dutch people or organisation promoting the integration of Poles in the Netherlands raises not only the importance of the event, but it also determines the good relationship between the two communities.
“Creating a positive image of Poles and Polish lobby brings benefit to all Polish people. So let us build together. There is a lot of work and a place for everyone.”
This is how the Ambassador, Jan Borkowski, welcomed the representatives of the Polish organization on the meeting, supporting the preparations for the next edition of electing the Pole of the Year.
Interest of media as well as the presence of TV Polonia contributed to the advertisement of the event outside the Dutch borders. The performance of Kayah and Marcin Wyrostek added splendour to the last year’s election and it met with an ovation from the audience.
The Polonus Foundation was founded in 2011 on the initiative of the Polish and Dutch Cultural Association (PNKV), the Association of Dutch and Polish Entrepreneurs (VPNO) and OTTO WorkForce.
