The list of awardees includes:
Karol Mossakowski – Debut of the Year
Agata Zubel – Personality of the Year
Opening of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław – Event of the Year
Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski – Honorary Award
The laureates were selected by the Polish music circles, and presented with statuettes designed by professor Adam Myjak. The Personality of the Year and the Honorary Award were accompanied by financial prizes funded by the STOART and ZAiKS Performers Organizations
The gala concert, titled “Do przodu żyj!” [Live looking into the future], referring to the lyrics of Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski’s piece “Żyj kolorowo” [Live a colorful life], featured performances by Aga Zaryan with the Nikola Kołodziejczyk Orchestra, saxophonist Łukasz Dyczko in a duo with Jakub Sikora on the piano, and the Royal String Quartet. The evening’s repertoire included compositions by Jan Krenz, Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski and Nikola Kołodziejczyk.
This years’ gala was a birthday present to Jan Krenz, the recipient of the first honorary Coryphee Award, and a birthday surprise for another artist celebrating his anniversary – Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski. Both have vitally contributed to the musical education of several generations of Poles, not only through outstanding concert performances but mostly through their radio auditions, such as the legendary WOSPR broadcasts or the legendary “Three quarters of jazz”.
The gala was organized by the Institute of Music and Dance and Polskie Radio Program II.
