The Main Competition ‘Making Way’ is addressed to directors making their first steps. Ten movies from all over the world compete for the Krakow Film Award – and the 100 000 USD. Traditionally, the jury is headed by a Polish filmmaker, this year the invitation was accepted by Krzysztof Zanussi.
In the Polish Film Competition, we have 10 Polish films from last year competing for Kluczyk Foundation Award – and the 300 000 PLN. In this category we also award the best actor and best actress prizes funded by Albert Riele and Gino Rossi. Just like previous year the audience have a chance to vote for their favourite movies from the Festival’s competitions. The author of the winning film will receive a prize of 10 000 PLN (sponsored by Allegro, the Festival’s main partner).
The Festival program has three new sections: “So Scary It Hurts,” “Adults Only?” and “Breathless”. We’ll screen unconventional, genre-breaking horrors, look closely at extremes and passions, and talk about adulthood in a new and irreverent way.
We’ll also have a chance to meet the masters behind the camera. Once again OFF CAMERA PRO INDUSTRY takes place at NETIA OFF CAMERA, in an event addressed to professionals of Polish and international film industry. It’s a place where filmmakers can network and improve, learning from the experts from all over the world. This happens in the relaxed atmosphere of Krakow and the Festival Centre in the Pałac Pod Baranami 4-6th May.
