The project is going to take part in Poland, between August 26th and the September 6th. The School for Leaders Foundation is looking for 20 people, who:

  • are 20 to 40 years old,
  • have Polish origins or are engaged in the activities on behalf of Polish communities
  • have been active socially, culturally or politically for at least 2 years,

The aim of the training is to develop the leadership competencies of the participants, to network and to build the cooperation between the leaders of the Polish communities in North America, strengthen their ties with Poland and extend their knowledge of present-day Poland.

Since 2009 School for Leaders Foundation has been carrying out the program of the School for Leaders for the Polish Community Abroad, which is addressed to the activists from the Polish communities all across the world. The aim of the project is to develop the leadership competencies of the participants and to prepare them to participate actively and consciously in the life of Polish and local communities in their countries of residence. 408 Alumni from 36 countries participated in the project so far.

The participants of School for Leaders have met with many distinguished public figures in Poland such as: President Lech Wałęsa, Senate Marshal Bogdan Borusewic, President Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, Minister Radosław Sikorski.

The project is co-financed with the funds received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the competition for the realization of the task “Cooperation with the Polish Community and the Poles who live abroad in 2015”.
