The inaugural flights to Krakow and back to London were boarded by 98 and 100 passengers, respectively. The passengers were welcomed by Grzegorz Michorek, Commercial Director at Krakow Airport, and the representatives of Welcome Airport Services (ground handling services operator for easyJet, also representing the company at the airport): Anna Łysik, Board Member for Commercial Affairs, and Wiesław Mardosz, Director of Krakow Branch. The inauguration was celebrated with a birthday cake for all passengers.
London is the most popular scheduled destination from Krakow Airport. Each year approx. 350,000 passengers fly on this route. London Southend (SEN) is the third airport in London which can be accessed from Krakow. The other two are London Stansted (STN) and London Gatwick (LGW).
EasyJet is the second biggest airline at Krakow Airport, offering weekly 34 flights from Krakow to 7 European airports. Last year the airline served 426,559 passengers flying to and from Krakow and performed 2,974 airport operations.
