In June 2013 the European Commission General Directorate for Trade and Enterprise approved funding for an international team, which includes the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, to conduct a project called ‘Liberation Route Europe: Experiencing the diversity and unification of Europe through WWII Cultural Heritage Landscape’.
