On holiday the Polish find Dutch people the friendliest. We appreciate the Dutch the most when it comes down to hospitality. This is according to a survey conducted by holiday site Zoover among more than 2,000 European holidaymakers. The Greeks and Italian also make a good impression on Polish tourists regarding friendliness. Austrian and French don’t score so highly on the Polish popularity ladder.
European holidaymakers are impressed by Greeks hospitality, they get a meagre 15.3% of votes.
When we go on holiday, somewhere with great weather, great food and super attractions is the ideal destination. But what if the locals can’t even raise a smile? Friendly locals are definitely the icing on the cake when it comes to a great holiday.

The European see themselves as most welcoming
What is most striking is that we regard ourselves as the most welcoming country. 22% of the British are convinced that we are the most hospitable to tourists. With 53%, the Austrians have the highest opinion of themselves. You could conclude that for most Europeans a holiday in their own country would be ideal. The Dutch are the most positive about us, with 5% of them designating us as the most hospitable Europeans. The French with 4%, also find us welcoming.
In the European rankings we score below average. On average, 3.1% of the foreign respondents think that the British are the friendliest people in Europe.
Greeks do most to please tourists
European holidaymakers find Greeks the friendliest (15.3%). The Dutch (15.1%) and Italians (11.6%) are also highly appreciated. The Egyptians (2.9%) are least appreciated for their hospitality. Along with us, they foot the rankings.
