On 11 January Eurolot will commence weekly Saturday flights from Warsaw to Salzburg, Austria. The plane will be taking off from Warsaw at 8:05 and landing at Salzburg at 10:10. The return flight is scheduled for departure at 10:50 and should arrive to Warsaw at 12:50. From April 24 Eurolot is due to launch connections to Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar in Croatia. As of May 24 the carrier will come back to Herringsdorf, Germany.
Norwegian airlines plan to inaugurate services from Warsaw to Malaga, Spain on 20 February. At first there will be two weekly flights: on Thursdays and Sundays. At the beginning of April the flight frequency will increase to three weekly, operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The same carrier is set to launch new routes to Barcelona and Madrid, on 3 April and 3 June, respectively.
On 30 March Germanwings will start services on the Warsaw-Cologne route (six weekly flights) and as of April a Slovenian airline Adria Airways will launch two weekly flights to Ljubljana.
Scheduled for 27 April is the first Warsaw-Barcelona flight by the Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling. The service will be operated three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using Airbus 320 aircraft.
Additionally, Alitalia revealed plans to launch a new service to Milan, Air Serbia is interested in operating from Warsaw to Belgrade and a new scheduled service will be opened by Bingo Airways however those are not officialy announced.
It is also worth reminding that only a few weeks ago, on 23 November, Wizz Air began flying from Warsaw to Tel Aviv and on 8 December the airline opened service to Grenoble. In 2014 the low-cost carrier is going to launch Corfu and Heraklion routes.
