The network of routes from Kraków Airport includes most of European capitals and the largest airline hubs (like London Heathrow or Frankfurt), where the passengers can change planes en route to the most remote corners of the world.
The first of the four new regular flights from Kraków Airport is an all-year-round easyJet flight to Lyon, France. Passengers will be able to fly to the capital of Rhône-Alpes starting on 29th March this year, 3 times a week (on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays).
On the first day of May, after a several years’ break, the largest British airline, British Airways, is returning to Kraków Airport and opening up a new connection to the largest airport in Europe, London Heathrow. Initially, the connection was supposed to be available only in the summer season, but thanks to good sales it is going to stay in Kraków Airport’s schedule for the whole year. Direct flights to London Heathrow are a perfect addition to the services addressed to business travellers as well as tourists and passengers visiting their families. In the summer, the planes will depart four times a week (on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) and in the winter passengers will be able to fly three times a week.
The new flights also include a year-round route from Kraków to Zurich offered by Swiss International Air Lines, which has also made a comeback to Kraków Airport, and a route opened up by Royal Dutch Airlines, KLM, going from Kraków to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Flights to Zurich will be available four times a week (on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays), and flights to Amsterdam are scheduled for seven days a week.
Due to the termination of Eurolot’s activity, the everyday domestic flights to Gdańsk will be taken over by PLL LOT starting on 1st April.
The high demand for several destinations in the summer season has prompted four air operators to increase the frequency of their flights from and to Kraków. Ryanair has announced that it would increase the number of flights from Kraków Airport to: Dublin (to 9 flights a week), Eindhoven (to 3 flights a week), Liverpool (to 3 flights a week) and London (to 16 flights a week). This concerns the summer season only. Moreover, the Irish airlines have also introduced additional flights to: Milan Bergamo (September), Bologne (April, May), Dublin (June), East Midlands (July), Gdańsk (June and August), Oslo Rygge (July to October), London Stansted (April, May and October) and Trapani (September). Finnair has also announced more flights, introducing an additional flight to Helsinki, which means six flights a week in the peak of the summer season, while Norwegian is going to increase the frequency of its flights to Copenhagen (to 5 flights a week) and Bergen (to 3 flights a week). The German airline Air Berlin, which operates on the Kraków-Berlin Tegel run, has also announced an increase in flights in the peak of the summer season, adding a fourth flight to its daily schedule.
This summer, some typical holiday destinations which were suspended during winter will also make a comeback to Kraków Airport. These are: Barcelona El Prat (Vueling); Barcelona Girona, Cagliari, Kos, Mallorca, Malaga, Paphos, Pisa, Trapani (Ryanair); Helsinki (Finnair); Stuttgart (Germanwings).
When it comes to charter flights, there will be a new destination to Comiso in Sicily.
