Before Pendolino can be exploited, it has to receive the permission of the Railway Transport Office. In order to get it, the train has to be tested to confirm adjustment to the Polish railway infrastructure in all possible weather conditions. Pendolino will be publicly exploited in 2014/2015 and it will be running on routes connecting Warsaw, Tri-city, Cracow, Katowice, Wrocław.
At first, on the Warsaw – Coast route train will only reach 160 km/h. It will reach higher speed (200km/h) on routes connecting Warsaw with Wroclaw and Cracow. PKP Intercity bought 20 Pendolino trains. The total cost of the purchase was 400 million euro.
