The Polish and Guinean delegations discussed further development of political and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the prospects for enhancing cooperation in the area of education, including student exchange. The Guinean side also expressed its interest in cooperating with Polish businesses on financing investments, specifically those concerning the modernisation of agriculture.

“We hope that this high-level visit will contribute to the development of Poland-Guinea relations, in particular bilateral economic cooperation,” said Deputy Minister Katarzyna Kacperczyk.

Poland’s balance of trade with Guinea remains positive. In 2013, our exports to this country reached almost USD 28m, while imports amounted to USD 4.1m.

Since 2010, Poland’s trade with Guinea has been increasing systematically. In 2012-2013, our exports to Guinea rose by 39%, while our trade volume rose by 17%. In the first months of 2014, the increase in exports amounted to 26% relative to a similar period in 2013.
