On October 22, at the Edinburgh Filmhouse a cultural feast was held, organized by Polish Art Europe. It tried to satisfy an appetite for cultural experience with support of the most outstanding representatives of the Polish School of Posters.

Americans of Polish descent, Polish immigrants and even a couple of “Poles by choice ” – 30 people told their life stories in a unique project run by the Emigration Museum in Gdynia. The artist photographer Tomek Zerek and researcher Dr Anna Muller spent a few weeks in a place which captivated them both. Hamtramck is a small town in the state of Michigan, an exceptional enclave of Polish Americans and perhaps also a lens of social change in the world of western culture. Meet the “People of Hamtramck” as the Emigration Museum welcomes you to the exhibition which tells their stories, on 12 November in the USA and 5 December in Poland.

The third edition of the Emigrant Film Festival EMIGRA has ended. Prizes and awards were given at the Orangery of the King Jan III Sobieski Palace in Wilanów. The Grand Prix at this year’s festival was awarded for Andrzej Papuzinski’s film Counterpoint (Kontrapunkt).
The second edition of the Made in Poland conference ended on Friday, October 23. The two-day event attracted dozens of participants and representatives of organisations and of the Polish diaspora media from many European countries.

Play Poland Film Festival is not only a wonderful festival of Polish cinema. Of course, screenings are at its core, however, parallel to these screenings, the festival also hosts exhibitions and features posters from the Polish School of Posters, including works of Henryk Tomaszewski, Franciszek Starowieyski, Waldemarz Świerzy, Jan Młodożeniec, among others.
