The main idea behind the “United States of Beta – Poles Jazz the World” record is openness to the world. It includes unique compositions, which take us into the world of musical diversity – ethno, jazz and chillout. It’s a distinctive mixture of influences and moods from the most distant places – from Scandinavia to Africa, from India to New York.

Małgorzata Hutek – a jazz vocalist and a song writer, who is recognised in the music world for her creativity and enthusiasm to overcome stylistic barriers. She is telling us about her involvement in the United States of Beta – Poles Jazz the World project.

Kraków Special Economic Zone has issued new business permissions. The total value of projects provided by 19 companies will reach PLN 597.4m and over 1000 new jobs will be created.

On 3 July, Ministry of Economy held the „Japanese Day”. The meeting was opened by minister Janusz Piechociński, while the panel discussion on business opportunities for Japanese companies in Poland was moderated by Polish Infomation and Foreign Investment Agency president Sławomir Majman.

“What does the idea of solidarity mean to me today?”- this question will be answered by amateur filmmakers from around the world, who will take part in Solidarity Shorts, a film contest. Short films can be entered until 31 July 2014.

The British Economist weekly has published Special Report on Poland. As the author, Vandeline von Bredow says, “Poland is thriving. Not since the days of the Jagiellonian kings in the 16th century, when Poland stretched from the Baltic almost to Black Sea, has it been so prosperous, peaceful, united and influential”.
