10 years of Poland in EU. Watch video prepared by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland.
We have been very good at seizing the opportunities the EU membership has created – this is the clear message of the MFA report “10 years of Poland’s EU membership,” which Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister Radosław Sikorski presented on 29 April.
“When Poland’s prime minister and top diplomat signed the EU accession treaty, little can they have known that the benefits would be this immense, both for Poland and the Union,” writes Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in an article marking the 10th anniversary of Poland’s EU accession, which falls on May 1st.
On 1 May 2014 we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union. Since 2004 Poland has received more than 82 billion EUR from the Cohesion Policy, which is being invested in new roads, improving natural environment, fast Internet connection, innovative development of companies, etc. The money that we have received exceeded our membership fees more than three times. As a result, Poland is the biggest net beneficiary of European Funds and the average level of EU subsidies per capita in Poland amounts to 8500 PLN.
Between 1st and 11th May 2014 there will be European Funds Open Days organised throughout Poland.

Today amber is one of the most important symbols of the city, which by no coincidence is called the amber capital of the world.
