The Festival which has been held every year since 2009 and provides a unique combination of beauty, architecture, art, light and scientific inspirations, is the largest outdoor cultural event in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region and one of the most highly rated cultural events among the domestic audience. By taking place in the heart of the Gothic Old Town of Toruń, which is included in the Unesco World Heritage List, the festival offers everything that a contemporary demanding spectator expects to see: grand-scale production, artistic meditation, easy and broad access to audio-visual art and direct interaction with the public.

The event makes use of an array of artistic expressions, from subtle installations to the use of state-of-the art audio-video techniques, including advanced 3D mapping, which leave the spectator breathless. In the Bella Skyway Festival, art is presented in the city space while light installations, special events and happenings are dedicated to particular places in Toruń.

It is an outdoor, open and non-commercial event. It makes an innovative reference to the values of humanism, stressing the value of art and science in the life of a community. Innovative ways of presenting art, which manifest themselves in numerous projects integrated with the city space, uniquely combine tradition and the modern showing that art does not have to be difficult and hermetic — quite the contrary, it should be available to the broadest possible group of spectators.

In 2015, the Bella Skyway Festival will invite its audience to interact with at least 15 light installations prepared by at least 20 artists from Poland and abroad.

“In 2015 – in the year which was proclaimed as International Year of Light – artists and their installations will take us on a journey to either end of the natural spectrum, from micro to macro. Thanks to the Festival, the mysteries of what is too small or too distant will be captured in an urban space. Everyone of us, will have a chance to experience the universe in action. This year, artists will oscillate within a framework from micro to macro and will be inspired by the plurality of life dimensions,” explains Mário Caeiro, Artistic director of Bella Skyway Festival. “The seventh edition of Bella Skyway Festival will be all about celebrating the incredible human capacity of perceiving life in all its dimensions. One more time, we will be looking for the new trends in contemporary art, we will find close links between science and art based on high technology, which lifts audio-visual art on another level.”
