List of books taking part in Book Polishing includes works created by popular Polish writers of different fields starting with fantasy stories by Stanislaw Lem finishing with reportages by Ryszard Kapuscinski. Every released book will be marked with a special BookCrossing label that will include a unique ID which will help to track the book’s travels as readers acknowledge discovering a book through the website Book Crossing.

Additionally, a short insert will be attached to every book that will include basic information about Poland and Polish phrases written phonetically in English. This event will give Vancouverites a unique opportunity to discover Polish literature, and, by extension, Polish intellectual culture has to offer.

Books taking part in Book Polishing are funded by Polish Consulate General in Vancouver.

A Book Crossing is best described as The World’s Library. It’s a smart social networking site. It’s a celebration of literature and a place where books get new life. BookCrossing is the act of giving a book a unique identity so, as the book is passed from reader to reader, it can be tracked and thus connecting its readers. There are currently 1 933 400 BookCrossers and 9 775 691 books traveling throughout 132 countries.
