Increasing urbanization in Western Europe and steady growth of Eastern European countries are resulting in opportunities for Poland, with its large cultivated land area (fourth in the EU), to become an attractive agro & food hub for whole of Europe.
This year in April the first European Startup Weekend Space (SWS) was organized. The event took place in Bremen, one of the centers of the German space industry. Participants arrived from over 20 European countries, as well as the US, India or Egypt. Poland was represented by three participants and two mentors. Municipalities and regions, competing for new investors, are looking for ways to improve their business appeal. One of the incentives for entrepreneurs are special areas that provide preferential conditions for business operations. According to data by Best2Invest, Poland has 14 Special Economic Zones with a total area of 18,000 ha and 71 Business Parks with the average investment growth of PLN 215 per second.
