During the second instalment of the LET’S CEE Film Festival, a selection of around 50 extraordinary films from Central and Eastern Europe will be presented over a period of nine days, starting on September 13th. The organizers’ guest list features such prominent names as Academy Award winners Branko Lustig, Allan Starski and Istvan Szabo, as well as Russian virtuoso film director Alexander Sokurov.

Persian Salvation is a new documentary about Polish children who found themselves in Iran in 1942, together with General Władysław Anders’s army. The film was co-funded by the Polish Embassy in Tehran and will have its Warsaw premiere on 17 September.

Summer Projector is an initiative launched in 2011 by the Archipelagi Kultury Association and the U.S. Consulate General in Cracow. The idea is very simple: good movies in beautiful and little-known places in the city, in a nice, relaxed atmosphere and absolutely for free.

The first concert in Poland from both YOKO ONO and Thurston Moore will be at at the concert celebrating of the 35th anniversary of the famous American record label Varèse Sarabande. This is one of the most spectacular events taking place at this year’s TRANSLATLANTYK FESTIVAL POZNAN 2013. The international film and music festival, which was inaugurated by the composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, will take place from 2nd to 9th August this year in Poznan and the Rozbitek Institute, which is in Greater Poland in the village Rozbitek, in the municipality of Kwilcz.

Walesa is an attempt at capturing the metamorphosis of a simple man – from an electric technician at the Gdansk shipyard who fought for labour rights to a charismatic leader who awoke the desire for freedom in millions of people and led to changes that exceeded their wildest dreams.
