A traditional stand with apples appeared at Piazza del Popolo on Saturday, 27 September 2014, at about 4 p.m. Fruit growers from the AgroBiznesKlub association have delivered over a tonne of apples from Poland specially for this occasion.
Through this action, the Polish Embassy in Rome joins the campaign to promote Polish apples abroad. Poland’s fruit and vegetable sector, especially apple growers, have been feeling the pain of the Russian embargo on agri-food imports from the European Union Member States.
The Polish illustrator Andrzej Mleczko has also joined the campaign by preparing a satirical drawing for this occasion.
