Ray Wilson will perform with: guitarist Steve Wilson (Ray’s brother), a talented pianist and producer Darek Tarczewski, beautiful violin duo Alicja Chrząszcz and Barbarą Szelągiewicz and saxophonist Marcin Kajper.
Genesis Classic is a spectacular concert performed by former Genesis frontman, Ray Wilson being joined by the beautiful string DUO, acoustic guitar, saxophone and piano. Classical musicians add a new flavour to Genesis’ work without depriving it of its original quality. It’s the unique experience that brings all generations together. It has been presented all over the world, in Russia, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Poland and Germany among the others. Ray Wilson, Genesis Classic was the opening show for UEFA European Football Championship 2012 in Warsaw enlightening over 100 000 fans.
Genesis – is one of the world top selling recording groups of all time, with approximately 150 million albums sold worldwide. The band composed some of the most recognizable songs ever made: I Can’t Dance, Mama, Follow You Follow Me, Land of Confusion, Congo, Jesus He Knows Me, Carpet Crawlers or No Son of Mine. In March 2010 Genesis was inducted into the famous “Rock’n‘Roll Hall of Fame” as an important and influential musical group.
Genesis has undergone several personnel changes throughout its history. First frontman of the band, Peter Gabriel was replaced by Phil Collins. After Phil Collins left the band, Genesis chose Ray Wilson for the further leader and recorded the fourth best – selling album in the band’s history – “Calling All Stations”. Ray Wilson was recognizable by Classic Rock Magazine as one of the greatest vocalists in Great Britain, is regarded as an exceptional songwriter, who is renowned across the world for his charismatic presence as an extraordinary entertainer.
In mid 90’s Ray Wilson was the frontman of the band Stiltskin. Their single “Inside” was an sensation on the world rock scene reaching number one in most European countries. Thanks to the amazing success of Stiltskin, the musicians from Genesis noticed Ray Wilson and took him on after the resignation of Phil Collins.
2014 is a big year for Ray Wilson. Firstly it will commemorate 20 years in the music business, for the amiable Scotsman, a career spanning from his first commercial release, with his band Guaranteed Pure, through his grunge Number 1 smash hit with Stiltskin, onwards to rock legends, Genesis, and the album ” Calling All Stations “, to the present day, where his new album, ” Chasing Rainbows ” will see him release his 4th Solo studio album, and his 16th release.
