It helps to reinforce Polish culture and tradition whilst living abroad. There are currently around 3000 copies in circulation per issue, and these are freely distributed in schools, parishes and other places where Polish people meet.

“Goniec is produced by authors who live in the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania and have direct experience of the problems and challenges that Poles who inhabit those countries tend to face, and therefore the articles respond to their needs.” – says Maciej Trojnar, the project coordinator.

Promoting Polish culture as well as its identity and spirituality, with a high level of publishing, results in the popularity of the magazine. However, further issues of Goniec may not be published in the future. “The grant has finished and we will no longer be able to cover the costs of printing and distribution of the magazine – explains Maciej Trojnar – and that is why we have decided to ask for help by creating a website Pogoń Gońca Through this we hope to raise funds required to publish the next few issues.”

The cost of publishing one issue is roughly 9000 zloty. Goniec’s authors do not want to abandon their compatriots whom postwar decisions have been left outside the frontiers, with restricted access to Polish culture. Therefore, they are asking – follow Goniec. Just 3 zloty is one issue in several Polish hands.
