Krakers aims to familiarize citizens and tourists with rich world of Cracow galleries and multifaceted art scene of our city. With this edition organizers want to underline that not only the big public institutions but also private or recess initiatives create a cultural map of Krakow. Krakers promotes young artists and places dedicated to culture and seeks to consolidate the Cracow artistic and cultural environment. Organizers ambition is to make Krakers an open space of discussion over a condition of “provincial” Cracow galleries and problems they are constantly facing. With this 3rd edition Cracow Gallery Weekend will try to awake the potential of city galleries and encourage audience to active participation in Cracow art world.
The idea of Krakers is based on similar events organized in the cities all around the world such as Chicago, Berlin, Vienna, Warsaw and Poznan. Up to this moment Cracow hosted two well received by the audience editions of Gallery Weekend. The event is organized by Małgorzata and Marcin Gołębiewscy – owners of the Art Agenda Nova and Wschód Sztuki Foundation
