Many businesses grow out of their original logos. In this case, the visual identity change of Kraków Airport is driven by airport management and cooperation with customers. Its roots are in the aerospace market evolution we have witnessed in recent years. Customer awareness has evolved and the availability of connections and travel planning tools sky-rocketed. The new logo ushers in a modern brand philosophy, reflecting on the business journey, approach and maturity of Kraków Airport.
101 connections in just one year
What has brought Kraków Airport to the very top of Polish regional airports is its consistently pursued, data analysis-driven and pre-programmed strategy for air connection network development. Still, its performance would not be that spectacular – and 101 connections in just one year really is spectacular – if it wasn’t for the economic and tourist potential of Kraków and Małopolska.
The airport is not just its infrastructure and the new terminal, accommodating one of the most modern luggage handling and check-in systems in Europe. It focuses on improvement in passenger service experience did not go unnoticed with the Airports Council International, announcing Kraków Airport the winner of the 2016 ASQ Awards in the “Europe – Best Improvement by Region” category.
Logo contest
90 artwork designs were submitted in the competition for the new Kraków Airport logo. The evaluation panel comprised PR, communication and advertising experts, academics, including from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, the creative design agency responsible for the new terminal, and the Kraków Airport management board.
