Thanks to this co-operation, the audiences in Israel and Poland will be able to get to know the music of both countries. The joint project will involve three events. The first one will be a concert featuring the vintage sound of Polish and Israeli beat music scenes of the 1960s and 1970s, which will take place on a barge moored on the Vistula bank in Krakow’s Kazimierz district. The concert will be also broadcast live to Teder club in Tel Aviv.

It will be followed by a dance party to the music from both countries. On the third night, 29 June, the Vistula bank will see an open-air, free jam session featuring Polish and Israeli artists. All concerts will be broadcast live on Teder, Israel’s popular radio station. The project will bring together twenty artists from the two countries, who will share their music fascinations with the Polish and, via a radio link, Israeli audiences.

“It’s the first such big and innovative presentation of the Krakow Jewish Culture Festival in Israel, and with this attractive local partner with a country-wide reach we’d want to get through to a wide audience, especially young Israeli intellectuals,” says Krzysztof Kopytko, Director of the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv.

Teder is the most popular music club in Tel Aviv, which each summer opens in a new place. It has its own art gallery and radio station which is well-known throughout Israel. The radio station broadcasts from popular clubs and can be listened to on the internet and via smartphone apps. The first Teder opened in central Tel Aviv. So far the Teder project went abroad two times – in 2012 to Tokyo and in 2013 to St Petersburg. This year Teder will simultaneously play from Krakow and Tel Aviv.

A Polish Weekend in Tel Aviv, planned for September 2014, will follow-up on the collaboration between the Krakow Jewish Culture Festival, the Polish Institute in Israel and Teder.
