“We believe that the object located in the heart of Wrocław will become a new, remarkable landmark of the city and the region,” says Zdzislaw Olejczyk, president of the Municipal Water and Sewer Company (MPWiK), responsible for carrying out the investment.

Wrocław’s new attraction is housed in a historic building at ul. Na Grobli. Built in 1893, the fresh water tank became the reservoir of pure knowledge about water in 2015. Authors of the exhibition were particularly keen to capture the interest of children and young people. Therefore, the centre uses modern multimedia. The exhibition area is more than 4 000 square meters. A total of 64 interactive installations awaits visitors in eight themed areas.

Visitors to Hydropolis will be able to see, for example, a film about the origins of our planet and the birth of water, take a peek inside a replica of bathyscaphe Trieste, which reached the deepest place on Earth in 1960, or become better acquainted with the vibrant life in the oceans. Separate zones have been devoted to physical and metaphysical importance of water for mankind, the history of water engineering, as well as modern water management systems.
